I don't have a weight problem...never have...so I only know about what I weigh. My husband on the other hand likes to keep an eye on his weight so he would weigh at work. Now I have to keep an eye on our son's weight per doctor's orders. So this is the 1st set of scales to come into our house and according to my husband it is right to the lb with the scales he uses at work.

I don't know why some reviewer's talk like they have to stomp on the thing to get it to work. I just lightly tap my foot in the center (that's how you turn it on). Weight comes up fast which is nice when you are weighing a 2 year old.

I'd recommend it. Sleek looking too!

Have had this scale for only a few days - tested accuracy by stepping on and off a few times - same reading as long as feet are placed in the same area - if not - you may lose a pound or two (good for the ego). Have found a toe lift works better than the tap feature to get it going - one little lift - no problem (does not require a huge, strong toe to do this -very light-weight scale).

This is a very accurate digital scale that not only shows you the pounds, but also the ounces. I am very pleased with my purchase because this scale reflects the same weight as the scale in my doctors office. My old scale, which was not digital, was always off by 5 pounds and we had to adjust it accordingly. I also like the look of it and keep it out - not hidden in a closet because it's too ugly. That give me more reason to step on it everyday and keep better control of my weight.

I can weigh on it 3 times in a row and it will always report the same weight, even if I pick it up and move it to another room! I have never used another scale this consistent. I also like that it reports weight in tenths of pounds. Even the scales at Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig only go down to .2 of a pound increments. One funny thing - tapping on the one at home does not turn it on, I have to lift it an inch or so and drop it to turn it on. That is not an issue as it is still consistent and both my husband and I have weighed within a few tenths of a pound when we weigh at home then go directly to Jenny Craig and weigh in there so I really trust it.

I'd owned an earlier model Weight Watchers scale that was digital but pretty standard scale construction, plastic housing over the internal works. I was purposely looking for an upgrade with the heavy glass base because I'd read they were more stable, not subject to as much variation in readings as the older kind. I'd been happy with my previous WW scale so I was VERY happy to find a glass one like this and at a good price on Amazon.

Yes, I read the reviews where some people said the "tap to weigh" feature gave them troubles, but my previous, older WW scale worked the same way, so there wasn't any learning curve for me. Now, that said, this model does require a pretty meaningful TAP - where the old, cheap model just took a toe tap, this one requires me to clonk it pretty good with the front of my foot, but once I wake it up like that, it sets to zero and you step on and get your weight a second or so later.

The platform is VERY sturdy - surprisingly so! I expected it to be thinner material, but it's quite substantial. The four legs and the heavy glass make it very stable. My older WW model had a much smaller overall platform and was not stable at all, and if you stepped on it wrong it'd try to tip. I don't think you COULD tip this model over at all - it has a much wider platform than many scales I've seen and is very stable on the floor.

I did the usual thing to check a new scale, stepping on and off several times to see if it'd repeat the reading - it did, down to the ounce! I took a 15 pound weight out of my home gym and stuck it on there - it weighed 15.1 ounces, which I'm more likely to attribute to the weight manufacturer than anything else, but even if you want to argue it was truly off .1, who cares?

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. High quality, substantial build, accurate, stable and an excellent price. Go for it!

I am a person who regularly watches my weight and I like to keep track of my progress. I had a basic low end scale that I picked up from the discount store for about $10 that really did not suit my needs well. This scale was off about 17 lbs. from the doctor's office scale. So, I have been in the market for a new scale. I have been researching different scales and I happen to run across some product reviews on the Weight Watchers scale that sound pretty good and close to my expectation of a good quality scale. So I thought that I would give it a try. And I am glad that I did. The Weight Watchers digital glass scale by Conair is very good. It was reasonably priced. I paid $25 on sale for this scale. The regular price of this scale was about $30. It is accurate in calculating your weight and the calculations are similar or if not the same as the doctor's office scale calculations. There is no calibrating all you have to do is pull the scale out of the box and tap on the scale a couple of times and wait a second for the scale to read your weight and then you just step on it. The numbers are large and they are very easily to read. The Weight Watcher's digital scale also calculates your ounces. It is made of high strength tempered glass that is very durable and it will calculate weights up to 400 lb. It runs on 3 AAA batteries that are included. It also has a 10 year warranty. It comes in stylish and decorative colors or clear glass and it also come in different shapes. Mine is red striped and it is square and I just love it. It fits very well in my mid size bathroom and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
I definitely recommend the Weight Watcher's Digital scale for those who want accurate calculations of their weight that reads pretty similar to the doctor's office scale.

The other scales that we've owned can give me a slightly different weight if I get off and get on a few times, which is pretty annoying when you're on a weight loss plan and want to know how much you really lost each week. This scale does not do that and it weighs to the nearest tenth of a pound! My husband and I both weighed ourselves twice on our previous scale (back-to-back, didn't move the scale) and the previous scale gave us both different #s each time we weighed ourselves. I am very happy with this scale. I didn't really want one with a clear glass platform, but couldn't find anything I liked the looks of, so went with this. Now I love how it looks on my ceramic-tiled floor. But the important thing is how it weighs. I think it's very good. For all I know, it could be a pound or two off, but does that really matter? All I care about is whether the numbers go down (yea!) or up (boo hoo!). I'm not going to drive myself nuts getting on and off every 5 minutes like some people seem to do. I do, however, always weigh, step off, then weigh again (just my own quirk), and the weight is always exactly the same. I feel confident using it. So I think it functions just as it should and it looks great and the price was certainly right (saw this exact model in a store right after I ordered from Amazon, and it was $8 more, plus tax). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the stupid sticker that comes on it. As others have mentioned, there is a large, very hard-to-remove red sticker showing where you "tap" the scale (the middle of the glass platform) to turn it on. No matter how I tap, the scale does NOT turn on. Instead, I stick one toe under a corner, slightly lift the scale up, let it set back down on the floor and it comes on. Don't let this deter you. It's kind of ridiculous, but no big deal. Overall, I am VERY happy with this scale.

The only thing that it would be nice to see improved is how the weighing process starts. As other buyers have mentioned, one has to lightly tap the surface of the scale to start it and reset it to 0. To be fair, this is a bit confusing the first time because one doesn't know how to react (Is it working now? Should I go up?) but after two or three tries, everybody should feel comfortable. I bought this scale after reading all of the reviews on Amazon. I have tested it over the last few days and, while it does not always report the same weight--sometimes not even twice in a row--the greatest difference between the high and low weight is about a pound. So I would say that it is pretty accurate, and you only notice the inaccuracies because it calculates your weight to a tenth of a pound. The most annoying thing for me was the ugly red sticker that says "Tap Here." It is almost impossible to remove this sticker without scratching the glass, which I did since I used utility knife to scrape it off followed by nail polish remover to get off the glue residue. The picture doesn't show this sticker, so why not just have a plastic peel off sticker instead of one that is glued on permanently (or so it seems)?

I find this scale to be fairly accurate - no more than 0.2 lb variations between multiple weighings. I have noticed that it seems to "stick" on whatever the previous reading is. In other words, you can weigh a 150 lb person multiple times and get 150.0, 150.0, 150.2, 150.0, but then if you weigh something lighter and then try weighing yourself again, it's more likely to jump - to 150.4 or something. It also weighed a plastic container holding 38lbs of cat litter as 40.3 lbs. That's good enough for my needs.

However, I also can't get this scale to turn on just by tapping it. I thought it was completely broken until I accidentally dropped it and it came on. Now I lift up one side slightly with my foot and let it drop to turn it on. I haven't yet decided whether that justifies returning it.

I purchased this scale twice. The first one would not turn on by tapping on the top. I even tryed new batteries of my own. I was really "tapping" hard; so much so that I was worried what damage might occur. So, I sent it back and recieved a replacement. The same thing happened. Then, just by coincidence I slid it sideways across the floor, and it turned on. I have learned (by trial and error) that to get it to turn on, you have to make some sidewards motion, not just tapping up and down. I will keep it and use it, but I don't like what it takes to get it to turn on. Otherwise, it is a fine product. Weight Watcher Scale by Conair WW39 Digital Glass Scale

My experience is that if you weigh yourself, then wait a minute, and re-weigh yourself, you can get a totally different value. I guess it gives you a good ball park - but you really need to weigh yourself twice because occasionally the first weight is 5 lb off! Also the whole having to "tap it" is annoying - you have to give it a decent whack with your heel to activate it. Also, I'm not sure if it was my bad luck - but the first scale sent to me just plain didn't work - so i'm on my second one. Does not bode well for it's general hardiness, but we'll see.

We received this scale and were eager to try it out immediately. Following the instructions, we set up the scale and placed it on our tiled kitchen floor.

Tapping the scale resulted in the scale displaying a "0.0", which per the instructions indicates the scale is ready to weigh. However, stepping on the scale, we were disappointed to see that nothing on the display changed. The 0.0 remained on the display for a few seconds, then the display turned off.

Later we moved the scale to a bathroom, which also has a tiled floor. For some reason, this time the scale worked. After tapping the scale with a toe and seeing the 0.0 on the display, we would step on the scale and the display would flash for a couple of seconds, then display a weight. During this time of proper functioning, the scale seemed to be accurate and consistent, and we were pleased that it had decided to work.

Our bathroom has a fairly small floor plan, so the scale was picked up and stored in a cabinet overnight. Upon taking the scale down and placing it on the floor again the next day, we were disappointed to find that the scale was not working again. No amount of poking, prodding, tapping, or repositioning the scale will make it work again.

Others have had good luck with this scale, but I'm beginning to think that it was just that: luck. Ours will be taking a return trip on the brown truck o' happiness back to Amazon. We'll try another scale from a different manufacturer.

When I first purchased my WW/ConAIR WW39 Digital Glass scale via amazon.con, it worked very well. For about three weeks to a month. Then the batteries died. I thought, "no problem, they came with the scale and were probably old. The scale came with Maxell batteries. So I go to the store and buy replacement batteries. The K-Mart I go to only had Duracels, but batteries are batteries, right? For a week those batteries worked, then died. So I go to the local Wal-Mart and this time get Energizer batteries. They likewise only work for a week then are dead.

Either the scale drains the batteries way too soon before it is intended, or it requires replacement batteries EVERY WEEK in order to be used. Either case makes this scale a bust in my eyes. When it does work, it works fine. But a scale that can't tell me my weight is not a competent product, and buying batteries on a weekly basis is not acceptable to me. The thing is supposed to be designed to conserve battery life, for Pete's sake.....

So I will look to purchase another digital scale NOT associated with either Weight Watchers or ConAIR. Consider me a lost customer....

Because it constantly sticks on the last reading given, you have to get on and off again adding extra weight(I usually use a large bottle of water) until the scale rights itself (but because it sticks so much, you are never sure which is the correct reading). If you want accuracy and don't want to have to take 10 readings at a time to be sure, then this is not the right scale for you. biggest waste of money ever! The replacement worked reasonably well for about two weeks then started having problems. Sometimes it wouldn't come on, other times it would come on and not register any weight and other times the weight showing would be double what it should have shown. For example, I weigh about 170 - the scale would show 340. Perhaps the dumbest thing about the scale was how you need to "tap" the scale to turn it on. What moron thought of that?
