American Weigh has designed an excellent, low-cost digital scale which gives a reasonably accurate weight for many household items. I purchased the scale for weighing my recyclable items, such as aluminum cans, and plastic and glass bottles. Now I finally have a method to verify that my recycling center is actually coming up with good numbers. The Tare weight feature (empty container weight) is very handy for excluding the container weight from my final poundage. And the ability to weigh in both pounds and ounces and kilograms is just icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

I first saw a similar scale being sold on a home birth supplies site for $36. Naturally I wanted to find a cheaper one. And AMAZON.COM is the place to look! This one is not only cheaper, it's better! This one can weight up 110 lbs (where as the other one only up to 50lbs) So now, with the help of a scale sling of course, I can weigh all my children whenever I need to (and I don't need a bulky scale to do that) And my husband can use it when he goes fishing and maybe even hunting!

I bought this to keep in the barn to weigh new lambs, feed ,etc. It works great and performs well in sub-freezing weather. Great value for the money.

Perfect for the occasional shipper for items up to 110 pounds. Alternative products cost at least twice as much, and require at least 10 times the space to store when not in use. Color me delighted.

Seems to work OK. Appears quite durable with metal case.

Haven't checked against known weights but appears within the ballpark.

Instructions are adequate. Not particularly well written.

Allows for a calibration procedure using known weights. Haven't done this.

One nit (hence the 4 stars vs 5) is it came with dead batteries. While I happen to have a bulk supply of CR2032 batteries, not everyone does, and unless ordered in bulk they're a high markup item and will add a few bucks to the price of the item.
